Tweddle Historical Tribute
We would like to acknowledge Jim Hevey for the incredible amount of work he has dedicated to compiling Tweddle’s History. Jim was born 11 weeks prem on the 8th of August 1939 in Yarraville. The following night Jim was admitted to the Tweddle Baby Hospital and not expected to live through the night. We are grateful that he did.
Jim contacted Tweddle in 2014, offering to write an historical tribute to Tweddle for its 95th birthday. The four-month project uncovered many interesting stories and provided an opportunity to research, document and showcase the incredible history of Tweddle, its staff, board, philanthropic supporters, governance and visiting dignitaries. Seven years later, Jim updated the tribute to include more information and colour photos. We hope you enjoy his tribute below (6MB PDF).
